In my collection, ‘Ethereal’ I have explored the relationship of Moroccan tradition found within in clothing, architecture and its landscape with contemporary soft tailoring. The collection is designed to boost the confidence of women of all ages, adding to their wardrobes, adjustable and sustainable garments with classic details to help them feel good and enhance their emotional wellbeing.
Primary research collected on my trip to South Africa enabled me to develop textiles that resemble Moroccan landscapes. The worn-out surfaces of the walls inspired me to use organic fabric dying techniques on natural fabrics such as linen, silk and cotton. Most importantly I discovered the importance of experiencing colour and light first hand, deepening my understanding of selecting the appropriate shades and tones in my fabrics that fit within the natural landscape of Marrakesh.
The collection reflects my aesthetic and creativity as a designer.
‘Ethereal’ is a collection for multiple generations of women, undaunted by age or social pressure and which showcases silhouettes for longevity and transformability.
