BA (Hons) Fashion
The nod of admiration from the person wearing the same band t-shirt; the look of disgust from the lady on the bus. Fashion is our first form of communication, how we build connections, find our community. It's my longing to understand people that informs my work and what makes me a good fashion communicator.
From my retail experience at an international streetwear chain to attending Berlin Fashion week or my Internship at Sun's Apparel in China, I have a good understanding of how people engage with the industry on a local and global level.
My project is a publication created around alternative lifestyle and fashion. My research was focused around areas of British subculture such as; tattooing, skating, and music. In an age where it’s easier to find out what the Kardashian’s had for breakfast than it is to go to a library; information is shared in interesting ways. Traditional subcultures have been picked apart, reconstructed, shared, and developed. " START3R PACK " is a wearable zine. The collection features a series of Fashion artefacts, such as, jewellery, patches, nails, etc... which can be added to the main garment, so the user makes the decision how the garment is worn.
