BA (Hons) Fashion
I am a womenswear designer with an experimental approach to my work. My collection is developed from a dark romantic beauty with accents of drapery and texture. I am passionate about the creative design process and this can be seen throughout my work.
Although I am focused currently on womenswear I have always been creative and use my artwork in a variety of formats including print graphics, accessories and other fashion products. I am hugely inspired by Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto and appreciate their philosophy in taking the most radical concept, ignoring standard clothing and instead creating extraordinary fashion .
Throughout my fashion journey, I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some of the most creative and driven people in the industry. Whilst at University I undertook internships, firstly as a Production Assistant at Preen by Thornthon Bregazzy and then as a Designer at Korlekie Ltd.
My collection 'Romanticism in Black' is inspired by the romantic movement of the late 18th and early 19th centuries and its impact in the contemporary world. Romanticism had an Ideology that become a symbol of fighting for freedom and equality for women and this the aim of my collection.
