BA (Hons) Media Production
I'm Simrone Kainth, an artist who is inspired by true everyday life stories, that takes inspirations and portrays them in a way that conveys across new perspectives. Writing and Directing Locket is an outlook on my own life if certain events didn’t happen in my life. It is a battle faced in everyday lives wishing certain things didn’t happen in life, but without consideration of the consequences of those wishes. The film provides an insight and a journey that the audience is carried through with the protagonist, exploring a range of emotions including loss, love and nostalgia. My goal was to create meaning and impact, provide understanding and perspective into mental health in an indirect way. Using the locket as a resemblance of a broken life, a memory, which is what a locket stands for, I wished to create conflicting debate between the protagonists reality and mindset in which she finds appreciation in what she once lost. To find appreciation is difficult, even for myself every time I looked back, however my mission is to create change in people's lives using the tools of media.
