Holly Houlton is a photographer and writer from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. A four-years graduate of the BA (Hons) Photography course, Houlton spent her third academic year in Madrid, studying Communications at Universidad de Europea Madrid.

Houlton’s work explores the subjects of people and place; with a particular interest in the effects they have on one another in relation to experience and time. Using a personal approach, themes of intimacy, relationship and self-reflection are applied to interpret her surrounding environments. With specific attention to detail, light attempts to draw out the perhaps otherwise unseen and stimulate emotive contemplation.

Alongside her visual practice, Holly is also a passionate photography writer in both editorial and academic forms. Houlton regularly contributes to, and has been published by, established magazines within the field. Besides taking part in exhibitions regarding her photographic practice and working for various publications concerning her writing; Houlton also volunteers at art galleries and festivals.
