Long live the Sea!

The inspiration for this project came from my trip to Cornwall, the legend of King Arthur who was allegedly born there and the oceans which are essential to our eco-system. My project is meant to show the development of the world, merging the historic clothing referencing the past and the corals from the ocean representing healthy and bleached reefs.

The collection 'La vie d'Arthur' exhibits the dying oceans. We no longer have the same, diverse underwater world. I wanted to create wearable art garments of textures and colours to represent the beauty of the breath-taking coral reefs which could vanish in the near future. The prints that I have developed using milk dyeing displays waste such as bottles showing that plastic is a cause for severe damage in the marine life.
