John Gallop

BA (Hons) Automotive and Transport – Personal Mobility

Hi, I'm John. I have been working towards a career in Automotive and Transport Design since I was eleven years old. Since graduating from school and entering university, I have taken it upon myself to push the limits of what is possible as a student by forging my own pathways into the industry:

I was fortunate enough to be invited to spend one month at Drive - Automotive Design Consultancy prior to the beginning of my second year, a hugely enjoyable experience where I learned the foundation of my 2D visualisation skills. During the first Lockdown of last year, I collaborated with an industry professional on my first fully 3D visualised project, the Kinrara GTO found on my behance which set me up perfectly for my final year at Coventry, where I enjoyed even further contact with the industry during the defining stages of my project.

This is the most brief of summaries of what I have been up to over the past few years and would love to tell you more! Feel free to get in touch at any time.

John has hosted two '30 Minutes With...' episodes, featuring car designers Frank Stephenson and Ian Callum.  Find both conversations here.

From the outset, this project had to be unique. I followed my passion for aviation in to the up and coming market segment of EVTOLs. With guidance from Coventry's Institute for Future Transport and Cities, I created a vehicle that is as innovative as it is dramatic. You will find a full research report, poster and design presentation below. In the defining stages of this project, I had the fortune of holding weekly meetings with the design team of McLaren Automotive where we refined every aspect which was then officially endorsed to use their brand on this project.
