Drypoint print 67 x 76cm, Somerset paper

Nature has exhibited a significant influence on my work. It is a phenomenon that provides us with endless impressions. We are dependent and inseparable from this ordinary world. We are interconnected to this world. Nature has provided us with a lot more than just the land we live on and the air we breathe. The natural landscape is a constant mystery that we as artists journey to explore. As a printmaker myself I believe there is no better way of figuring out a place other than the traditional ways of producing impressions of what we see capturing the originality. Photographs are not always the ideal way of proving evidence of how the place appears. It can be used to an understanding of how the place was perceived.

My prints represent a variety of printing techniques using etching, aquatint, woodcuts, screen printing, collagraph and printing impressions of natural materials. I would class myself as an experimentalist in the profession of printmaking, in search of ways to produce remarkable textures and marks. My collection of prints shadows our natural world with the complexity of processes evoking many ideas.
