Architecture in Culture

Pattern and colour are what assemble my piece. Inspired by Indian architecture, my production demonstrates the intricate
patterns, vibrant colours, and textures in architecture across cultures. My creation aims to disregard Modernism and revive
traditional qualities. Development has resulted from the inspiration of Hans Van Lemmen and his creations of decorated
architectural tiles and intriguing history. I have produced tile compositions, governed by both their practical and decorative
appeal. The process entails sublimation printing on a range of colours, including gold, silver, and white, to signify the
authenticity of ancient architecture. The shiny, metallic surface captures the light, producing beautiful reflections of repeat
patterns. The geometric shapes support religious connotations and represent the decoration of important buildings like
mosques, temples, holy shrines and graves.
